On October 24, Lionel Bringuier makes his conducting debut with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra at the Stavanger Konserthus in Norway. The evening marks the start of the orchestra’s three-week-long violin festival, featuring distinguished violinist Lisa Batiashvili, who joins Mr. Bringuier and the ensemble for Saint-Saëns’ striking Violin Concerto No. 3. Additionally, the program features Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, a work inspired by a Goethe ballad that is notably associated with the 1940 Disney film “Fantasia,” and Rachmaninov’s magnificent Symphony No. 2.
