Russian masterworks with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra

Lionel Bringuier makes his highly anticipated return to Sydney to conduct the Sydney Symphony Orchestra on November 8 & 9 at the Sydney Opera House. The last time Lionel led the SSO was in 2015 with pianist and longtime collaborator, Yuja Wang, garnering critical praise for their fantastic performance:

“Bringuier’s direction is extremely precise and this accuracy produces an impressive level of structural clarity in the music.” (Limelight Magazine)

Mr. Bringuier leads the SSO in a program of Russian masterworks, including Tchaikovsky’s deeply expressive Piano Concerto No. 1, featuring the acclaimed virtuoso pianist Behzod Abduraimov, and Rachmaninoff’s turbulent Symphony No. 2, a work that carried the Russian symphonic tradition into the 20th century.
