This September, Lionel Bringuier begins the third year of his tenure as Principal Conductor and Music Director of the acclaimed Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich. Mr. Bringuier and the orchestra present a spectacular season, which features tour performances in Switzerland, Turkey, and several countries in South America, including Argentina and Brazil. They will continue their successful TOZintermezzo events, which are bringing new and vibrant audiences into the concert hall, and celebrate the appointments of percussionist Martin Grubinger as 2016/17 Artist-in-Residence and composer and conductor Péter Eötvös as Creative Chair. The ensemble also heralds the premiere of new, contemporary works, including Kaija Saariaho’s “Trans” for Harp and Orchestra, to be debuted by renowned harpist Xavier de Maistre in May 2017.
