At the end of this month, Chief Conductor and Music Director Lionel Bringuier returns to the podium of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich for works by Ravel, Sibelius, and Brahms. The October 31 and November 1 performances begin with Ravel’s Shéhérazade Overture, performed as part of Lionel’s complete survey of the composer’s orchestral works with the TOZ.
This season’s TOZ Artist-in-Residence Lisa Batiashvili then joins Lionel and the Orchestra for Sibelius’s Violin Concerto. The program concludes with Brahms’s Symphony No. 2, one of the core Romantic era works that also factor into this season.
