On October 28 & 29, Lionel Bringuier conducts three richly varied masterworks with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur. Grieg’s ever-popular Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 launches both concerts, followed by Saint-Saëns’ rarely performed Piano Concerto No. 5 ‘Egyptian’ with the masterful pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. The programme closes with Shostakovich’s exuberant Symphony No. 6. These concerts are hosted as part of the MPO’s Classics series, which features some of the world’s most acclaimed conductors and soloists throughout the season.
