The Orchestre National de Lyon has announced that Lionel Bringuier will be the Artiste associé for the 2017/18 season. This appointment will feature three concert series with the orchestra (programmes TBA) which take place in November 2017 and May 2018. The news was shared as highlight of the Orchestre’s 2017/18 season announcement, presented by Music Director Leonard Slatkin.
Mr. Bringuier’s season with the Orchestre features three programmes. The first, which takes place on November 16, includes Berlioz’ Overture to Le Corsaire, Op. 21, Ravel’s Concerto for Piano in G major with soloist Nicholas Angelich, and Schmitt’s La Tragédie de Salomé, Op. 50. He leads a concert on November 18 highlighting Dutilleux’ Symphony No. 1, a reprisal of the Ravel Concerto with Mr. Angelich, and Excerpts from Bizet’s L’Arlésienne. Lionel then conducts Connesson’s Feux d’artifice, Haydn’s Cello Concerto No.5 in C major, Hob.VIIb:5, and Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2, Op. 27 on May 3 & 4 in Lyon, followed by a performance in Evian (TBA).
