Lionel Bringuier makes his highly anticipated return to Los Angeles this week, to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a three-concert series. The programme includes the Rimsky-Korsakov arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Stravinsky’s Petrushka, and Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2 in G Minor with soloist Gil Shaham. Performances take place January 19, 20 & 21 at Walt Disney Concert Hall; visit the link for tickets and more information.
Mr. Bringuier then travels north to conduct the San Francisco Symphony on January 26, 27 & 28. Pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet performs Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major, on concerts that also feature Kodály’s Dances of Galánta and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4.
The Ravel is also the centerpiece of a Deutsche Grammophon recording with Lionel, pianist Yuja Wang, and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich. Purchase your copy today via Amazon or iTunes.
