November for Lionel Bringuier begins with several concerts in his capacity as Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich. Following October 31 and November 1‘s program of Ravel’s Shéhérazade, Sibelius’s Violin Concerto, and Brahms’s Symphony No. 2, Lionel returns to the podium on November 4 and 5 for three performances.
November 4 and 5’s evening programs begin with Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture and include soloist Matthias Goerne in Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder. The concerts also feature the conclusion of Lionel’s Ravel Cycle with the TOZ, which over the last two seasons has heard the composer’s complete orchestral works, hearing Ma mère l’oye and Rapsodie Espagnole. On the afternoon of November 5, Lionel leads a lunchtime concert that pairs the Hebrides Overture with Ma mère l’oye.
