Chief Conductor and Music Director Lionel Bringuier returns to Tonhalle podium for Ravel, John Corigliano, and Stravinsky

Following a successful opening to the 2015-16 season, Lionel Bringuier returns to the helm of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich for concerts on September 23 and 24. The Orchestra’s Chief Conductor and Music Director continues his Ravel Cycle initiative, which upon conclusion will hear the complete cycle of Ravel’s orchestral works, all of which will be available in a box set for Deutsche Grammophon.

The program begins with the composer’s Alborada del gracioso and concludes with Boléro. In between, Martin Grubinger rejoins Lionel and the TOZ for John Corigliano’s Conjurer Concerto for Percussion and String Orchestra. The Zürcher-Sing-Akademie also return to the Tonhalle stage for Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms.

On September 25, Lionel leads an abridged version of this program as part of the popular tonhalleLATE series, which will hear Conjurer and Boléro.
