Lionel Bringuier returns to Tonhalle for works by Salonen, Rachmaninoff, Mussorgsky

On February 25 and 26, Chief Conductor and Music Director Lionel Bringuier returns to the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich for a program that highlights the Tonhalle’s Creative Chair Esa-Pekka Salonen and Artist-in-Residence Yuja Wang. Salonen’s Helix begins the concert, followed by Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with Wang as soloist.

The performance concludes with Ravel’s orchestrated version of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. All three works will be heard in various combinations across France, Germany, and Austria as part of the Tonhalle’s tour, Lionel’s first with the orchestra, which takes place February 28 through March 8.
