Lionel leads Ravel and Chopin with Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich

On January 7, 8, and 9, Chief Conductor and Music Director Lionel Bringuier returns to the podium of the Tonhalle Orchester Zurich for his first concerts of 2015 with the ensemble. Joined by legendary pianist Nelson Freire, the French maestro conducts Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2. A recording featuring the two artists in the same work was released earlier this week on Decca classics.

The Chopin concerto is bookended by two Ravel works,Menuet Antique and Daphnis et Chloé. Both of the pieces are presented as part of Lionel’s multi-season cycle that will hear all of Ravel’s orchestral compositions.
