On December 31, Lionel Bringuier gives his last concert of 2014 and ushers in 2015 with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich. The orchestra’s Chief Conductor and Music Director leads a dance-inspired program to welcome the new year. The concert features Alisa Weilerstein in Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations, as well as Kodály’s Dances of Galanta, Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances, Brahms’s Hungarian Dances, and the Polovetsian Dances from Borodin’s Prince Igor.
The annual New Year’s concert caps off a banner 2014 for Lionel, which included his inaugural concerts as the new leader of the Tonhalle Orchestra. The event was recently named one of the top musical events of 2014 by Mark Swed of the Los Angeles Times.
