Next week, Lionel Bringuier returns to Reykjavik for a concert with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra on September 25. The French-born maestro leads the ensemble in two landmark works of the Romantic and late-Romantic eras, beginning with Bruch’s Violin Concerto featuring soloist Eva Þórarinsdóttir. Mahler’s emotionally vast Symphony No. 5 closes out the performance, given at the Harpa concert hall.
